Back in February, Scott's sister Pam, her husband Al and their 3 kids (Alex, Richie and Emma) came up to visit us for a long weekend. It was so fun - the cousins absolutely love each other and had the time of their lives. The first day Scott, Al and their two boys Alex and Richie went golfing. So Pam and I, the girls and CJ headed out the Exeter for lunch and a little shopping.
On Sunday we headed up to Sequoia National Park to play in the snow - that was an adventure in itself. The park required chains that day so we had to find a place to rent them. The first place (closest place to the park) wanted $100 each...we ended up going down the mountain about 10 miles and found them for $25. The moral of the story is buy your own and always have them in your car. We finally made it...
Scott and his boy, it was so beautiful
Let's just say we were not really prepared dress wise for the snow - everyone had jeans and tennis shoes so after about 20 minutes there were done and freezing. So we warmed them up in the car and out our lunches that we prepared. This trip was a learning experience - we will be better prepared next time.
They sure are cute!

On Monday we went to a place we had heard a lot about - Cat Haven.
It's a cat santuary for retired cats. It was way more fun than I thought it would be. You could get so close to the animals and the tour guide gave you lots of interesting information.

The panther
The lion was the coolest, of course.
However, I think he thought Gracie looked like a tasty treat.
After getting home from Cat Haven, we took Pam and Al out to dinner and Sabrina babysat the troops. This is what it looked like when we came home. They were zonked out from all the fun. So thankful for family and the relationships this cousins have with each other. Can't wait for the next visit!
