Random Stuff Lately

Just to warn you from the title...this post is random stuff, no rhyme or reason.
A couple weeks ago we hosted Joy School at our house, we were learning about the joy of our body so I decided it would be fun to make roll out sugar cookies with 5 little helpers!
And we made crowns to celebrate Sydney's Birthday.
One of CJ's FAVORITE things to do....mow the lawn with his dad.

Gracie was the "Calendar Kid" at Pre-School
The girls had parents visiting day at their dance classes

CJ scootered some more, notice at the end of the video I say "Come back this way" to which he responds by doing the exact opposite. That pretty much sums up our life lately :)
Gracie decided to sleep in her doorway instead of her bed...

Apparently I decided to do that 30+ years ago also
Scott and I celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary
He gave me this beautiful infinite bracelet, apparently the 10 year gift is "Tin", he decided this was close enough :)  I can't believe it's been 10 years!
This was the night we got engaged...look at Sabrina, she was 5, so thankful for Scott and for my kids who make life so much fun!
My parents came for a week visit (which we never want to end) and they both helped with a few projects.  First he redid our coffee and end tables.

Then after
Then we stained and added shelves to my antique wardrobe (before)
After
And finally my mom brought up the quilt she finished and did 70% of the work on for me.  It is sooooo beautiful and amazing...LOVE IT and LOVE MY MOM!

Sabrina's Garden Project

Sabrina is one project away from completing her Young Women Personal Progress in church.  Her latest project was rebuilding our garden and planting and maintaining our winter garden.

This is what our garden looked like in April 2012.
And what it looked like in October 2012, can you say "out of control".
So she started by disassembling...with her two assistants (even if she didn't actually ask for their help)

Aren't they beautiful?  Can you say a garden is beautiful?  hum?
She planted lettuce, cabbage, peas, broccoli and spinach.
The end result!
Great Job Sabrina, so proud of the hard worker that you have turned out to be!

2012 Soccer Season

I am ALWAYS sooo excited for soccer season to start...and then in turn ALWAYS soooo excited for it to be over.  It is a big commitment, Scott usually is some type of coach so is busy with the girls.  This year Allie was on the "Pink Panthers".  They have had a good year with a record of 3-3-2.  They had playoffs on November 3rd, which they won 2 of their 3 games but didn't advance further.

Sabrina played on a traveling league "Visalia Galaxy", Scott was the Asst. Coach.  Her team dominated their league.  I think they only allowed 1 goal the whole year.  It was a bit disappointing, Sabrina wanted it to be much more competitive, since she opted not to play high school ball this year. Sabrina ended up with a pretty serious knee injury that ended her season with 2 games to play. Right now we are waiting for an MRI to determine the extent of the damage. Due to high school soccer season starting they will have play offs for their league next spring which hopefully her knee will be healed by then.

October Festivities

Happy Halloween 2012!
Love the month of October, the weather is usually spectacular, this year though it was weird.  It was hot, then cold, then warm...
First up, on October 19, 2012 a trip with our Joy School group to the local pumpkin patch.  Technically, this is CJ's joy school but Grace gets to participate.  My favorite thing about this picture other than these cuties is the "Do Not Climb" sign right behind where they have obviously climbed.
Our Joy School kids are Sydney (in the pink), CJ, Avery (in the stripes) and Kaitlyn (not pictured yet)...she was a bit shy at first.

The moms and kids on the hay ride.  Finally a shot of Kaitlyn in the purple.
The kids had a lesson about how pumpkins grow.  They paid way more attention to the lesson than I thought they would.
We have a "Blondes ONLY" rule for our Joy School Group :)
They got to run through the miniature corn maze.  Love that Kaitlyn is lurking in the background :)
Pumpkin Patch Round #2
Gracie's Stepping Stones Pre-School had a field trip to the pumpkin patch the very next Monday on October 22nd.  It rained that day.  Notice CJ wearing sleeveless shirt and shorts in the above picture and coats and sweatshirts in the below.  Told ya...crazy, weird weather!

Love this picture of CJ
King of the mountain
Scott and I attended a super AMAZE Halloween party that our friends the Browns held.
Indian and Flamboyant Cowboy!

For family night, we carved pumpkins.

On Halloween, Gracie had preschool and they were allowed to wear their costumes.  Gracie was a kitty cat.
That night, they dressed in their costumes.
Leopard Allie
Kitty Cat Grace
Fireman CJ, he was hilarious!

The carved pumpkins on Halloween Night.

And we almost literally ran into a black widow while out trick-or-treating.  Eeewh!
And just for the record, this was the first year that Sabrina considered herself too old (which she is) for trick-or-treating.  It actually made me really sad to think about.  So she went to the high school to watch a water polo game instead.
