The little guy is 3!

* You are such a light in our life, you keep us young and wear us out with your constant energy.
* You have started skipping naps because with a nap you like to stay up until 11pm.
* You love balls, all kinds - football, basketball, baseball, golf ball, etc.
* You love to wrestle, especially with Dad, Grace and your joy school friends.
* You and Grace are best friends some days and mortal enemies the next.
*You are a hugger. You hug everyone when you see them, especially your friends. Sometimes you'll throw in a kiss.
*When you are in trouble you come over and give me a kiss, thinking that will undo whatever it is you did to get yourself in trouble in the first place.
*You do not go to sleep on your own. We rock you or lay down with you.
* You are a destroyer of things, especially things that Grace has just spent time building.
* You like to play games on the Wii and my phone. When I tell you that you need to go play and use your imagination. You say, "I don't want to use my imagination".
*You like to tell Gracie "you're rude!" among other things :)
* You say funny things all the time, that make me smile and bring me joy!
*YOU are the GREATEST Little Guy around!
We had a great day with our little guy.  He wanted to go to the Fresno Zoo, and fortunately for us we are having unseasonably warm weather so it was a great day. This zoo is great...it has all kinds of animals but it's just the right size to see everything in a few hours. His favorite was the orangutans
Especially the little babies

He also liked the baby kangaroo that was in the mama's pouch...you can kind of see the legs sticking out

Our attempts at a family photo

They have this amazing new sea lion exhibit

Then we went out to lunch/dinner at a Sal's in Selma, CA.  It's the best Mexican food we have found in the valley so far
They sang to him and gave me a virgin strawberry daiquiri.  It was funny
Then home for some present opening
This boy loves his shoes
and his bouncy ball
and football pj's
and potato head
and new (his own) razor scooter that lights up

One happy little boy!

The past three years have sure gone fast, I wish I could slow it down to have lots more time with you. We love you so much and can't imagine our life without you.  Happy Birthday sweet boy!

Our Pilgrim and Thanksgiving

I guess I should get posting our Thanksgiving before Christmas right?
Our little Grace had a "Feast" at her Preschool.  She was a pilgrim and they performed a few songs.  Unfortunately, during the performance she was behind a "taller" kid so you couldn't really see her :(
Scott's parents came up for the long weekend and we had a great time.
We had them and the cranstons for dinner and then the browns and hauberts and their extended families came over for bingo and dessert afterward...It was soooo loud but soooo fun!
So Thankful for family and friends to spend holidays with!

Random Stuff Lately

Just to warn you from the title...this post is random stuff, no rhyme or reason.
A couple weeks ago we hosted Joy School at our house, we were learning about the joy of our body so I decided it would be fun to make roll out sugar cookies with 5 little helpers!
And we made crowns to celebrate Sydney's Birthday.
One of CJ's FAVORITE things to do....mow the lawn with his dad.

Gracie was the "Calendar Kid" at Pre-School
The girls had parents visiting day at their dance classes

CJ scootered some more, notice at the end of the video I say "Come back this way" to which he responds by doing the exact opposite. That pretty much sums up our life lately :)
Gracie decided to sleep in her doorway instead of her bed...

Apparently I decided to do that 30+ years ago also
Scott and I celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary
He gave me this beautiful infinite bracelet, apparently the 10 year gift is "Tin", he decided this was close enough :)  I can't believe it's been 10 years!
This was the night we got engaged...look at Sabrina, she was 5, so thankful for Scott and for my kids who make life so much fun!
My parents came for a week visit (which we never want to end) and they both helped with a few projects.  First he redid our coffee and end tables.
(before shot)
Then after
Then we stained and added shelves to my antique wardrobe (before)
After
And finally my mom brought up the quilt she finished and did 70% of the work on for me.  It is sooooo beautiful and amazing...LOVE IT and LOVE MY MOM!

Sabrina's Garden Project

Sabrina is one project away from completing her Young Women Personal Progress in church.  Her latest project was rebuilding our garden and planting and maintaining our winter garden.

This is what our garden looked like in April 2012.
And what it looked like in October 2012, can you say "out of control".
So she started by disassembling...with her two assistants (even if she didn't actually ask for their help)

Aren't they beautiful?  Can you say a garden is beautiful?  hum?
She planted lettuce, cabbage, peas, broccoli and spinach.
The end result!
Great Job Sabrina, so proud of the hard worker that you have turned out to be!
