The day after Christmas is one of my MOST favorite days of all!
I spend the whole day with my mom, shopping all of the after Christmas sales, going to lunch and just hanging out together!
This year was no exception.
Scott always takes the kids to the park with his sister's kids and so everyone is happy!
Scott had to fly home and work on Tuesday, December 27th :(
He will be back on the night of December 30th.
Anyway,

Anyway,
the weather was unusually cold this year..(I'm used to wearing flip-flops the whole break and I think last year we even went to the beach)...There were really only two 70 degree days and we made the most of them!
On December 28th we headed out to do the 7 Bridge Urban Hike.
It's basically walking around different sections of Downtown San Diego going over 7 different bridges.
It was so cool!
We started down by the Zoo, walking over our first bridge to see a rose garden and all of these cool cacti plants.
You walk through Balboa park, where the Grinch tree was still up.
This is on my list of things to do next year...take the kids to see "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" at the Old Globe Theater in Balboa Park.
The Old Globe...so pretty!
Bridge Number 2.
There was a lot of historical information provided about these bridges..so not only were we getting a lot of exercise but the kids and I were able to learn some cool things about how all these bridges came about.
Bridge Number 3
Bridge Number 4
This one connected two neighborhoods...
My Mom's good friend Mary Tabor always joins us for our adventures.
She's the best..
Gracie's jumping shot!
and everyone else too...
Redwood St.
Bridge Number 5
We stopped in Hillcrest and took a lunch break.at a place called Huapangos!
Just what we needed.
It was DELICIOUS! and gave us the energy we needed to finish the walk.
After lunch, we continued our journey to bridge number 6
and finally, bridge number 7.
It was a little hilarious because it is under some construction so it was certainly not the most beautiful part of the walk.
All in all, we walked over 7 miles in 4.5 hours (including lunch)...it was great!
I love that my kids and my mom like to do things like this!
I love being out and about getting exercise and seeing parts of this world we live in!
